Quilting and Loving

I had hoped to get the John Deere quilt done for Caleb before we left for our trip . . . it didn't happen. I was able to devote some time to it last week and am now just finishing hand sewing the binding.

As I was wrapping up the final quilting, I found myself frustrated with the mistakes I was making as well as those that had already been made. A strange thought came to mind - this quilt with all of it's quirky stitch patterns and mistakes is a picture of my love for Caleb - imperfect and not easily moved. I have a fierce love for my son. I believe he has a fierce love for me. He is honest to a fault - which I respect and appreciate.

  1. Ok. To begin with, that brings tears to my eyes. And, Oh my goodness, that is AMAZING. There is only one problem, I want to touch it...hold it up...turn it over...listen to the imaginations run wild while it's being played under...
